My Three Men......

Good evening all...It has been a while...It is nice here in the North..It was quite cold a few nights last week...-30 for a low a few nights....Brrrrrrrrr.....But we survived the frosty evenings...And it is a balmy - 5 tonight ..Much better..My hubby went fishing today with friends of ours on Lake Nippising..They caught a pickerel and a few perch ..Jesse went with them and they had lots of fun...Daddy was reading the paper ( or I should say trying to read the paper ) this morning with his morning coffee and he had two little dudes reading along with him...The boys being nice to each other ...lol..Actually he was not sticking his tongue out like it appears at his brother he was imitating the dog...lol....boys....Owen was also saying Woof...Woof...His newest words and is just fascinated with the dogs..Well all is well in the North and I hope this post finds you all well too....Have wonderful rest of the weekend and until next time...

My Children....

Good Morning all....How is everyone this fine and dandy day...It is very windy here and blowing snow...Quite a blustery winter day..Good day to do some scrapbooking....!!!...I am getting there...Well I was looking at the local paper today and it said Junior Kindergarten registration next week...Wow already...Jesse will be 4 in July..How time flies...He is still so little...lol..But he is ready for some constructive play with other children his age..He has been going to speech therapy classes in North Bay..We are on a few months break over the winter but we will start again in April...He is talking but a lot of words are not coming out ...I would say in the right order or as jargon sort of...You can make out some things but others are hard to understand..So they have been working on simple words and commands..He has been doing really good..If he goes to JK a resource teacher will work with him a few times a week to help with his speech...Owen on the other hand is beginning to talk already..He says Mom, Dad, all done, I think duck...lol....We are not too sure...He is a very busy 18 month old ...He loves to climb on things and give his Mommy and Daddy a heart attack...lol...He has curls just like his Daddy and is just like his Daddy in many ways...He loves to play with his older brother and bug him...Jesse has a very mild mannered temperament and can handle it most days...He is a pretty calm boy...So they are my most treasured blessings..I have been reading some really good parenting books and one in particular has stuck with me very well..A very practical christian parenting book...Don't Make me Count to three...Ginger Plowman.. She says "as moms , we need to be reminded of the awesome responsibility that God has given us. When we respond to the high calling motherhood with passion, the rewards are far greater than any we could ever gain outside of that calling. The joys of motherhood are rare and beautiful treasures that can be easily missed if we don't seize the opportunity to grab them.Being a mom is more than being a cook, chauffeur, maid, counselor, doctor, referee, disciplinarian, etc. ( just to name a few.) Its about molding character, building confidence, nurturing, training, and guiding. My greatest accomplishment today was nurturing the two precious children that God has entrusted to my care "....How beautiful...Well .... Moms with those thoughts in our minds have a wonder rest of the day with your kiddies and wonderful weekend...Until next time...

This and That...and fishing tales....

Good Day everyone...Hope that you are all doing well..We are getting some snow here in the North..It is white again and glad that all that mud is frozen...Our water is still brown but is starting to clear a bit...We have been showering at our friends ..I will be glad when its back to normal..Will has been ice fishing quite a bit..He has caught a few smaller perch...But no pickerel...The neighbor fisher hut caught a very nice 4-5lb pickerel the other day...My hubby about a week ago had something VERY BIG ....On his line...He got it to the hole and it snapped the line..He saw the body of the fish sort of roll by the hole and it took up the WHOLE hole...Which is about a 10 inch hole....So needless to say a VERY big fish got away from him...He is still talking about it and went and bought higher weight line ...He is after the big one ...He is quite an avid fisherman..Jesse went out with him on Saturday for the afternoon...He had lots of fun..He just likes the 4 wheeler drive out there and takes his toys and plays in the snow..He does not really pay too much attention to the fish...lol...We are in for snow all week ..It is nice actually to be back to winter...It was nice for some mild weather but it is January...I like the white stuff...I have been getting some serious scrapbooking done lately..I set up my table in the living room and can just do it anytime...I am still doing Jesse's baby book and have Owens to do yet and our cruises..So I will be busy this winter...Thats ok ...Well thats all new for now...Until next time...

January Thaw

Good Morning all...How is everyone doing?..We here in the North are good...As the title says we had a BIG thaw here and all our snow is gone..Which at one point I think we had about three feet...It rained for about three days and was very warm...(for January) and melted all the snow...We are in a bit of a water problem as our well( which is dug)...the seal is gone and with all the water ..You can well imagine what our water is like...I call it brown sludge...Not good for nothing...Not for bathing , showering and definitely not drinking...Yuck..So come Spring we have to either get the seal fixed or dig a drilled well...The water will eventually clear up as we had it before( not quite as bad as this)..So we are buying water jugs ...And hopefully going to friends( thanks John and Beth) for some showers and to bath the kids...But it really puts a stop to everything..No laundry , no dishwasher..I guess a good excuse to not have to clean...lol...Oh well soon it will be back to normal soon as it is much colder out and the thaw is all done I think...Always something to keep us busy..Well it is a beautiful sunny day and there is now a light dusting of snow on the ground ..Very pretty actually...Well hope you all have a wonderful day and until next time....

Holiday and Birthday Gatherings....

Good Evening all....The holidays are officially over and we had a great time...We ate lots ...Visited lots...Ate lots...Did I mention eat....lol..But we had lots of fun...We had company join us for a few days over New Years..My good friend Carolyn came for a few days and our friends Laura and Richard...We gathered at our friends John and Beths for a birthday party...My hubby and his twin brother Mel were celebrating their birthday and Beth was celebrating hers as well...We had lots of fun..We had gourmet...With those little pans again...Never can complain that the food is bad....You cook your own....lol..We then had New Years over here...We had the gang over and friends of ours from church...We played Cranium...Had a blast..So yes the holidays are over..A little sad actually but glad to be done eating all those goodies...Tread mill here I come...That is one of my New Years resolutions...To get active...Well I posted a few pics of our fun times...We had a really cold night last night...-30..Coldest night yet this winter...Good for freezing some ice...My hubby has been ice fishing about 5 or 6 times already...Some little perch but no Walleye yet..He has his hut out but not quite where he wants it for the season...We took Carolyn out to check out the hut and the lines ..Her first on lake experience...She was a little nervous but thought it looked like fun...It is actually when you are in the hut with the stove going and drinking hot chocolate....Its our little get away...lol...Well folks...Thats all for now and until next time...
