Happy Valentines Day....

Good Day all...How is everyone doing?...We here in the North are good..It is a mild day of about -5 degrees...We are in for a bit of a storm later today and tonight...Things have been pretty calm here...Will has been ice fishing and caught aboout 4 pickeral in the past few days ..One was about 24 inches..His biggest yet this year...The beginning of this week we had some very cold temperatures...-30...Our water line froze the other morning...Fun...Fun..Needless to say it was up and working again with the help of a plumber....But the frost has got below the line now and we have to leave a tap dripping now till Spring...lol..Just enough to keep the pump kicking on and the line will not freeze...All the joys of winter...All in all I do not mind winter at all....I will say though with children it is much easier in the summer ...Not having to bundle them all up with snow suits , hats, mitts, boots, etc. etc...I like shorts, t-shirts and sandle weather...Thats for sure...But I do love the beauty of the snow and I like ice fishing and the cool days..I am not a heat fan...I love the summer but not the humidity...But up here we do not get too much humidity...Some people that have lived here all there life say we have July and winter...lol..Well thats just fine by me...It is so nice to have the four seasons...As much as we tend to always long for the season we are not in..lol..Well hope everyone has a Happy Valentines day and until next time.....

Ice fishing...........

Good Morning all....How are you doing...?..It has been too long...Well I have been busy with just stuff....Days seem to be flying by and not sure what I have been doing really..Just the every day things of being a stay at home wife and mother...We had a couple over on Saturday from our church...The kids were at Aunt Colleen and Uncle Mitchs for the night for a sleepover...So we had a adult visit....lol...It was great actually we went ice fishing in the afternoon...It was my first time this year...I did not catch anything but Will caught a nice size pickeral and a perch and Josiah caught a nice pickeral as well...Bobbi-jo and I drank coffee and stayed warm in the hut which is heated nicely with a propane stove...We had lots of fun and then came in to the nice warmth of the house and had gourmet...The dinner with the little pans...Had a great visit with our friends ..The boys had a great time with their Aunt and Uncle...The weather has been mild the past week but we had about a -24 night last night ...And it is getting colder for the weeekend..We have had quite a mild winter really...No complaints from me..But I love the cool not the humidity...I do LOVE summer but not the hot , hot days...But am glad for the seasons...Well thats about all new at the Dehaans for this week and I will try to post more....lol...Have a great rest of the week and weekend and until next time........
