Good Evening all...It sure has been a LONG while...Well one of my new years promises is to update our blog MUCH MORE often...I have some Christmas pictures to share but we will start with some home school pictures..We have been doing a Kids of Integrity study from Focus on the Family ministries and it helps to teach our children different character traits...This week and next we are focusing on Attentiveness...It gives bible verses and stories to read to the children and crafts and activities to help them learn the particular character trait...

Love, love the 'listening ears' Tara!!! I too made it a practice to add some character building stuff to our curriculum a few years ago. What I found was happening was that far too much of that type of teaching in our home was reactive as opposed to proactive. ...And I don't know about your kids but ours seem much more receptive and willing to engage their minds and discussion when we're discussing a topic indepdent of the fact that they've "just blown it". The older the kids get, the more and more I've been enjoying (and being challenged by) the discussions that come up triggered by this curriculum. I'm relearning and being convicted right along with them.
